6/08/2008
6:00pm - 8:00pm
Floating Pavilion, Halsey Street, Auckland Viaduct

Event Description

Just a reminder if you haven't RSVP'd to this month's Auckland Wireless Wednesday, 6th August, please do so! This is proving to be a very popular event so make sure you reserve your space and be one of the first to learn about LTE and how it will affect you! RSVP to info@wirelessforum.org.nz

100Mbs to your mobile? No, it's not a Tui ad. It's LTE.

Long Term Evolution or "LTE" is regarded by many as the future of mobile technology and is the first true global mobile standard. LTE promises faster connections (100+ Mbs), more efficiency, and lower operational costs. Even better - it's real. LTE has been demonstrated live at speeds of 144 Mbs and is due to become commercially available in the second half of 2009.

Kursten Leins, Strategic Product Manager and "LTE guru" from Ericsson Australia/New Zealand, will be in Auckland presenting at Wireless Wednesday the key issues for LTE, including:

- LTE technology: how it works & how we get there
- Spectrum issues
- Global trends
- Implications for operators and end-users

Be at the Floating Pavilion 161 Halsey Street, Viaduct, Auckland from 6:00pm for a 6:30pm stage call for Kursten. Free parking, drinks and nibbles and of course, our very famous debate and networking!

We would also like to introduce you all to our new co-ordinator, Madeline Erkkila.  Madeline will be organising our monthly events, and will be looking foward to meeting you all on Wednesday the 6th.

I (Helen) will still volunteer some time to the Forum, but due to work commitments, I won't be as heavily involved this year as I have been over the past couple of years.  I'm sure you will all make Madeline welcome and we look forward to seeing you at the upcoming event;

Floating Pavilion, Wednesday 6th August, Start time is 6pm.  Please RSVP to info@wirelessforum.org.nz.

 See you there!
